Fused Artglass Jewelry Fusing is the melting together of glass in a kiln. Specially processed, colored glass is cut, sized, shaped, and fired in a kiln made specifically for melting glass. After firing the pieces at a temperature range between 1100-1750 degrees, the pieces are allowed to cool to room temperature. Each piece is then attached onto a finding, (a pre-made jewelry fitting), using a special type of epoxy that is activated by ultraviolet light.  This process insures a secure bond between metal and glass. Then, depending on what is being produced, the finished piece is cleaned, shined, and completed for purchase to the wholesale or retail market..
